This place looks sketchy from the outside, but actually is a pretty nice place.

The atmosphere was great- we went for lunch and it was bright and sunny with plenty of different seating options, including booths. Lots of drink selections, including non-alcoholic cocktails and tons of options on the food menu, even for vegetarians. We both enjoyed our meals: taco salad and portobello burger, although the fries could have been crispier and maybe fresher as it seemed like they may have been sitting around for a while. Also, I don't remember seeing on the menu that the portobello was deep-fried and it would have been better without that extra processing. Overall it was an enjoyable meal and I would go back and try something else from the menu. I would give 3.5 stars if I could because 4 seems too high, but it was above average.

It took one hour and 10 minutes to get our food. I asked the waitress why it's taking so long and she just giggled!! The food once it finally came was fairly good but the service was beyond bad. It was the first time in my life I did not leave a tip. She should have at least apologized or got the manager to come explain why the wait was so long when the restaurant was virtually empty

This restaurant is a very good place to eat. There are many choices on the menu and we always sit at the bar so we can meet and talk to the many people who sit and talk there. Very nice atmosphere and very good food.

We went in as a family last night and asked to sit on the patio. The hostess was clearly not happy about this given her initial facial expression which she then tried to smooth over with a very fake smile. After seating we met our server who seemed okay at the beginning. Not overly attentive but fine. Nachos starter was cold but other than that tasty. About 15-20 min after our app we are still waiting for main course and we overhear another server tell our server 'your food is up'. She continues to stand by and finish off multiple payments on a split bill. About 5 min later we are still waiting and knowing it is our food as there are no other tables anymore we ask her how much longer on our food. Now here is the shocker she says 'oh it's ready but I just have to finish this and then I will get it'. So our food has now been sitting there for 10 plus minutes getting cold. She clearly didn't think there was anything wrong with what she said and in fact we were wrong for rushing her. Terrible serving attitude and service. Eventually we get our meals and only 1 out of 4 is edible. Chicken pasta is Luke warm and tasteless as is the Mac and cheese. Somona salad has old iceberg lettuce, no nuts, and an overload of vinegar dressing which leaves a strong acidic taste in your mouth. We ask for the bill and she brings it over. We are ready to pay and wait about 5 to 10 min as our server socializes with what appears to be friend customers at multiple tables all with split bills. We eventually ask another server if we can just get a machine to pay (it's 12 am now - 2 hrs spent waiting for one app and 4 mains). This server seems very nice and he appears sorry for us. He takes our payment as 'our server' continues to chat- doesn't come over and doesn't say thank you or finish the sale'. The tip is the lowest I have ever given and when I leave i remember she never gave me the food she said she would pack up for me. She also comments on the tip to herself or her friends as we walk past. I would have spoken to a manager had it not been 12 am and so tired. Given the way the restaurant was run probably nobody cared anyways. Being a former server myself I just can't believe how someone could behave in this way. She basically have up on our table and couldn't care less about us. Definitely avoid this place at all costs. I'm sure there are much better options in thunderbay.
