Feta & Olives - Thunder Bay

My husband and I had a fantastic lunch at Feta and Olives in Intercity Mall today. The Greek salad was incredibly fresh, crisp, and delicious, with a generous portion size. The gyro was outstanding. The young men serving us were very friendly, efficient, and eager to please. The prices were great, so we will definitely be returning to try more items on the menu. I ordered a dinner plate with mixed chicken and beef shawarma and salad. Unfortunately, the shawarma did not taste like authentic shawarma, and the beef shawarma was overly salty. The salad was decent, but the quinoa was not good. I was disappointed with the meal and don't plan on returning to this restaurant or any similar feta and olives places. I would suggest going to Subway instead, as it is much more worth the money.

The gyro at this restaurant wasn't the most authentic I've had, but it was a generous portion and delicious. I chose the beef on whole wheat option. While jalapenos and banana peppers may not be traditionally Greek, they added a nice flavor. I'm not sure about the owners' Greek heritage, but they were friendly and offered samples.

I like trying different offerings at food courts so I was glad to see that Greek food was an option and the Inter City Shopping Centre in Thunder Bay. My souvlaki in a pita was prepared quickly by the friendly employee. There was a good variety of other Greek style offerings too. There was a good choice of toppings to add to my pita. I enjoyed a tasty lunch at a good price. I would eat here again.
