The Guksu and Noodle - Thornhill

I had beef hot noodle soup. I had very limited choices. The noodle soup was rather blend and had not much flavors. Thankfully, they had Kimchi that was salty and tasty.

Quality is consistent. Service is good. Doesn't have a big menu and honestly it doesn't need to. They certainly know what they are doing. I am a huge fan of their cold noodles. The vegetable fritters are good and their signature pork dish is amazing with makgeolli. You can't go wrong with this place.

I would give the food 4-star but the service dragged it down a little. Service was not bad but just imagine understaffed. No smiles either but no kidding with just one guy in server uniform. He needs to work on an inviting personality and not just able to take orders. The spiciness level was intense despite a hot pepper beside certain menu items. Definitely worth a try. I think seats less than 50.

I was at Guksu and Noodle with family over the weekend. (BTW Guksu means noodle in Korean) I didn't expect much first time but it was better than I expected. If you want to try decent Korean noodles, I will recommend this place.

We are always looking for a place to have dinner with friends and their kids. This noodle place is new but everytime I drive by, I couldn't tell the name of the restaurant because their sign has this Korean symbol and the word Noodle. Until I mentioned to my friend and she told me the name and I was able to look it up.They don't take reservation between Fri and Sun, but we were able to get a large table since we were there before 7pm.We ordered various type of noodles, both hot and cold. They have a large selection of cold noodles, compare to other Korean restaurants in the area.Their hot noodle broth is not very salty. The famous dish is the sous vide pork, you can choose between soya sauce, sea salt or kimchi. Give it a try, quite tasty!
