Hanstholm Madbar - Thisted

The food bar does not have a menu card. It probably depends on what fish can be obtained. We got redunge (first time for me). It was fried perfect! Potatoes and salad, and the house's white wine.

The service was welcoming, warm and friendly. The locals are with good views of the harbour and charming furnishings. Good review of the menu map including the board menus We ordered both the fish file ala star shoot. We quickly served a nice orientation. However, it turned out that the fish might have a little sufficient time on the forehead. We both agreed that we might have chosen a burger it can almost not be destroyed. Limited excited, the view and the operation draw up while the food does not match the price.

Charming and cozy atmosphere. Great views and and excellent food and service...just that special and extra notch above! A lovely afternoon and well worth the extra drive for us!

This is really a restaurant with a few bedrooms attached. We took a room overlooking the harbour fantastic view on a day where the gale force winds had sea water pouring over the various defence barriers. Room was quirky rather than luxurious. Some really nice touches including a record player (loads of records in the bar to choose from) and a chaise longue. Food was fantastic I had grilled fennel with various bits and pieces and a lovely sauce, followed by moules frites. My wife had deep fried risotto balls as starter and plaice and chips as a main, followed by lemon mousse. We went for a decent wine a Riesling described on the wine list as ‘Morten says this is the best Riesling in the world’ we are thinking Morten is either the head chef, sommelier or possibly some random bloke who once popped in for a sandwich! All in all very good. Got a bonus glass of 20 year old port for 48kr the bottle had been opened the night before and not finished. Finally there is a loo equipped for wheelchair customers right outside the bar. Will definitely go back.

I have been here a couple of times and I must admit this turning into my favorite place. It’s difficult to describe and you must visit to experience this special place. The great food, the old records playing and the amazing service complete this place. Yes, it can be far away but I promise it’s the travel worth.
