Carolyn Beach Inn & Restaurant

It was a pretty simple lunch order and the place had one table of people! 2 coffees and a grilled cheese! Served on a side plate, when it should be on a plate where the sand which is not hanging from the edge! Imagine not a pickle or garnish to be found! Coffee was okay, but requested refill never arrived! Pleasant server but slow! Sandwich was those terrible cheese slices! Nothing terrible reasonable on the menu, for a light lunch, except a grilled cheese or a western! The sand which had an after taste of what had been grilled before! Took forever to hand calculate the bill!Not too sure! Would try again to see!

The waitress was great and that was the only thing that was great. The food tasted like it came out of a box. The owner (the ornery, obstinate man taking the money was about as rude as any one in his role I have ever met

We stayed at the Carolyn Beach Inn in Thessalon and had dinner at their restaurant. The site for the Inn and Restaurant is beautiful, right on Lake Huron, with lovely walks and views. The restaurant was basic in decor , but the food was very good. I had the whitefish and my partnern had the liver and onions. Both were nicely done and tasty, although the fish was somewhat bland. The desserts are home made. The lemon pie was sold out , but the coconut cream pie was delicious. Service was friendly and timely, given the restaurant is mostly family run. We would happily eat and stay there again.

After reading all the rave reviews of the curry, I had to try the butter chicken & it did not disappoint (although skeptic given the location...)!!It was a mild to medium spicy curry balanced with more tomato base than traditional butter chicken dishes I've had. It came with basmati rice, naan & I very delicious raita that I wish I had more naan to soak it up with. I could have had another serving!!My other guests had the perogie meal, fish & chips featuring giant fries & the kiddie burger. Everyone was super impressed with the food!And we topped it all off with a big slice of coconut cream pie! Always get the pie -

Everything from the room, the view, the food; try the butter chicken; to the management allowing us to wash my motorcycle, very accommodating. Ya awesome place to stay!
