This location quite good. Great sandwiches with only the finest fresh ingredients. Great to go ready made meals, coffee and a whole lot more. Clean store, with many Italian specialty items. They have been my go too for wine and cheese pairings every Easter for the last few years. The wine and cheese monger Nadine is a local Malvern girl who again set up the perfect pairings for my elderly Aunts annual feast at Immaculata. Only down side has been when it's busy it can be a bit slow during the holiday season and at times some of the support staff doesn't know wine or cheese. Aside from that I highly recommend it. I wish we had a store like this near where I live in MA. This year I will order items on line for my own gift giving.
I first tried Carlino’s tomato pie at a friend’s party and that item alone convinced me I needed to use Carlino’s to cater the next big event I hosted. I ordered tomato pie instead of pizza because it was going to be served cold and because some of my guests were Vegan. At my party (for my daughter’s Christening), I ordered two pans of tomato pie (they’re huge, so I probably had a whole one leftover), two orders of the pork sandwiches, one broccoli rabe, one roasted red peppers, a fruit salad (not on the menu, but if you call and ask, they can make it for you), and a Christening cake. The only thing I made was Classic Minestrone soup from Cookie and Kate’s blog. I got rave reviews from all guests on the food and didn’t mind at all eating the leftovers for the next week! As a New Orleans native, I was skeptical that I would be able to find food as good as home in the Philly area, but Carlino’s is the real deal. Everything I’ve had from here has been delicious!
Wow first appearance outside didn’t look like much until you walk in. It was packed. I love how in the front of the store it was kind of similar to a grocery store. Then there were separate parts of the store like a coffee shop, wine area, etc. I really like the store but it was a bit overwhelming but the staff were all super nice and asked if I needed assistance. Food was pretty good too. Had the pasta before from Carlino’s Catering but first time in the store. I would bring people from out of state or out of town here. Definitely a place to hang out in. They have a nice seating area located in the front of the store.
Delicious coffee and an amazing deli. Some deli options (salads) rotate. Highly recommend the Caprese Salad
