The octopus was perfectly grilled, paired with a fresh and tangy fennel and orange salad that was vibrant. My family enjoyed the presentation of the beef tartare, as we could mix in the egg yolk ourselves. And the burratina was incredibly creamy and delicious, served alongside sweet roasted beets and honeyed pumpkin seeds. I would definitely recommend these appetizers for sharing, especially for a larger group. For our main courses, we ordered a variety of dishes: lobster linguine, veal osso buco, and steak frites (8oz charred California cut striploin). The lobster linguine was cooked al dente, with generous chunks of lobster throughout. The 8oz steak was cooked to perfection and had a great char. It had minimal gristle and fat, making it very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the meal was overshadowed by the veal osso buco, which arrived cold. My brother and I were eager to dig into the large portion when it arrived, as the aromatic sauce and the silky smooth mashed potatoes looked enticing. However, we quickly discovered that the veal was cold in the center upon our first bites. And by cold, I mean cold to the touch – not warm or even room temperature. Every piece of veal was the same. Instead of offering us a new plate, our waitress asked if we wanted the dish reheated (essentially microwaved). No, thank you. We sent the veal back and opted for the steak frites, which my mom enjoyed much more. Aside from the food issues, I felt a bit uncomfortable with our waitress. She approached our table asking if we wanted drinks more times than I could count on my hand, creating an awkward pressure to order more alcohol. The restaurant was gracious enough to comp the veal, but would I return? Perhaps for the appetizers or the steak frites. Did I find it slightly overpriced? Yes, but that’s to be expected from a resort area restaurant. If I find myself in the area again, I’ll likely explore other dining options before returning here.
I have NEVER eaten at a restaurant and had an experience like this. Service was slow, waitress could not remember our order, took her notes soooo slow. Didn't refill our water. Two members of our party had hair on their plates. Food was over priced for the quality. But the worst was when we questioned the mandatory 18% tip. One member of our party asked for it to be removed from their bill. The service was just not up to quality. She was very polite but the server actually rolled her eyes at us. I could go on and on. The manager was not sympathetic at all, never apologized and did not remove the tip. The server also spread our complaint to her other tables to the point that they were questioning us. Nevermind that, but they were not handling rowdy guests well. They were up walking around without masks between tables, shouting loudly.. it was a mess. I honestly wouldn't tell my enemy to go here.
Great service but food was disappointing. Mezza plate appetizer was only dish we enjoyed. Rest of the food was too salty and not favourable. Steak and chicken strips were both over cooked and salmon had no flavour. Dessert was disappointing....We had chocolate cake and crepe brûlée.
Poor service and weak drinks. I had a nice time last year but this year was a hot mess. I almost wanted to ask if my drink was made virgin. Worth noting on weekends it seems to be the hot spot for bridal showers as there were 4 on Saturday. Threesome drink was tasty but I expect more from drinks over $7.
The location was excellent, and the ambiance was decent. We ordered the specialty cocktails, but they were light on alcohol and reminiscent of summer spritzers, which didn’t quite fit the cold winter evening. The food was average, though it had the potential to be very good with just a little more attention. The chef really needs to taste the dishes being served, as everything seemed to lack that extra touch to elevate the flavors. However, the hamburger stood out as exceptional. Unfortunately, our server seemed inexperienced and didn’t make much of an effort to enhance our dining experience. We dined at Copper Blues last night, and the contrast between the two experiences was striking!
