The staff, particularly the barmaid, appeared to lack charisma and were not very accommodating. Despite this, the food was good but on the pricier side. Overall, not a total disappointment but some improvements could be made in terms of menu options and service.
Had most probably one of the best meals for ages. All the food was lovely. All very hot when it came out. And all the staff were very accommodating
Was invited by friends to a Saturday lunch at this pub. The menu is old fashioned, the food nearly passable and expensive. It’s quite clear this pub is living in the past of the good old days and not moved with the times. I presume the landlord does not get out much and see what’s happening in the food scene and flexible enough to bring his menu into what people want today.
This restaurant is a hidden gem, with a charming old-world pub interior featuring exposed beams, dim lighting, and a cozy fireplace. We were recommended this place by Three Trees Campsite and were delighted at how welcoming they were to our Bernese Mountain Dog. It was the perfect end to our evening on Friday, June 30th after a refreshing walk from our tent. Thank you, White Horse team!
It was nice to revisit this pub restaurant that we've enjoyed a number of times in the past. Particularly good was the addition of a separate curry menu (which several of us ordered from) to the normal a la carte. There were 8 of us and everyone enjoyed their meals. However, the staff were much less attentive than usual and for some reason we were seated in a large empy part of the restautant at the rear, which was cold.
