When we arrived, we discovered that they were only serving pizza at that time (around 5:30 pm). The fact that they use a garden oven to make the pizzas adds a charming touch to this lovely pub. You can customize your pizza by choosing from a list of ingredients, though I have to admit that the selection could use a few more types of cheese. Overall, it was a fantastic spot to rest during our journey. Price per person: £10–20. Food: 4/5. Service: 4/5. Atmosphere: 4/5.
Great value for a Sunday roast, with excellent service! Price per person: £10–20. Food rating: 3/5. Service rating: 4/5. Atmosphere rating: 3/5.
I arrived at the pub on my motorbike around 1:00 PM to find it empty. However, I was met with a very rude response, stating that the kitchen was too busy to serve me. I definitely do not recommend this place. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Since it was a Monday, not every pub was open, but we headed to the Cricketers, which we knew was open seven days a week. Having enjoyed their Sunday lunch during our last visit, we were eager to return. Initially, we planned to have just a sandwich, but upon seeing the lunch menu, we couldn't resist and decided to go for the full meal instead. With an enticing selection that included venison, pheasant, mussels, and scallops, how could we say no, especially given the reasonable prices? We were not disappointed. The portion sizes were perfect for lunch, and the food was delicious. This pub truly strikes a wonderful balance between being a traditional watering hole and serving fantastic food. May it continue to do so for a long time!
Since it was Sunday, we all opted for the roast. My lamb was a generous portion and cooked perfectly. The desserts were beautifully presented and delicious. Despite the current trend of rising prices, the bill was quite reasonable. I will definitely return to explore their evening menu, which looks very appealing. Is there anything that could be improved? One member of our party is vegan, and unfortunately, there was only one main dish available for her, with no options for starters or desserts. While I understand that a village like Longparish might not have catered to veganism in the past, times are changing. If a large group includes a vegan and there are no suitable choices, it could deter the entire party from booking. Nonetheless, as a meat lover, I’ll certainly be back.
