The Vintage Tea Room - Tendring

We hosted my daughter's baby shower at this restaurant on Sunday and we were all very impressed by the incredible buffet that offered a wide variety of choices. They also had a gluten-free option available for my other daughter. Tracey and Donna were both very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be recommending the Vintage Tea Rooms to others.

The service and food was top class. The atmosphere was lovely and the price was spot on for what we had to eat. The owner was very help with our requests

A warm welcome, a decent cup of tea and a reasonably priced fry up is basically all I'm really after in a cafe and this place delivers. Also the sausages are real, not then grey basic ones you sometimes get. It seems to be a...place that attracts regulars too. A good sign.

I made a booking a day prior to my intended visit, when the person I was meant to be going with fell ill on the morning before our visit. I then called to cancel 40minutes before my visit, which I understand is late notice but...still thought they would appreciate me cancelling more than just not showing up. When I phoned up and said about cancelling my booking at 12 I could hear staff talking about me disrespectfully and then the phone was handed to someone else who then spoke to me rudely and didn’t give me a chance to rebook for the following week and instead hung up on me. The reason they gave for being annoyed was that the scones had been cooked fresh, however 2 scones is hardly gonna affect their business and is no excuse for bad customer service.

The nice girl came from the kitchen nd got into position behind the counter to ask if I was eating in or take away. I think she might have been the ownher of the tea room, she showed me to a table near the gifts....I didnt buy anything but there was a few things i had my eye on. The breakfast ws delicious and my dietary needs accomodated. Particularly liked the locally sourced sausage. Shame i didnt try the cake it looked tastyy. Very nice place would highly recommend. Thanks
