The hotel is affordable, elegant and situated in the countryside with nice views. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommended. My friend and I stayed Friday night for the food festival. Beverley gave us the warmest of welcoms it was like walking into an old friends home. Nothing was to much trouble for the lovely staff. We had room 24 and it was roomy with a lovely bathroom with bath and over head shower . Breakfast was continental with a good selection of fresh rolls pastries cold meats cheese cereal fresh juice and tea and coffee. There was a wedding later on in the afternoon and the table settings were absolutely beautiful set upon the backdrop of the lake. All the staff we met were friendly and very helpful We wouldn't hesitate to return to this super little location. We had a lovely stay . Noteworthy details: We were a bunch of cyclists on a charity ride from John O’Groats to Lands End Nick managed to fit in an extra bed for us at short notice He even allowed us to convert the function room into a temporary cyclist garage!! We had a lovely stay here. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming from our original booking through to saying goodbye. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Fantastic position on the lake. The only reason I have given 4 stars is that there was not enough storage in the room. Not a bedside cabinet, nice but too contemporary from that point. They are doing renovations which is great to bring the decor back to how it was so some of the images are of the previous years, the breakfast room was very dark but we were lucky to have brekfast out by the lake. Also no outside lights when coming back in the evening. We will definitely return. Special mention to Bev and Hazel, thank you! Hotel highlights: Great view, Quiet, Great value
