Around 8:15 our waiter stopped over and said he's sorry for tge delay and was going to check on where our food is. Around 8:30 the supervisor came over to offer us free drinks for the delay. Food finally came about an hour and a half after ordering. My wife's Tortellini was still hard in inside and was very bland, definitely not worth the $53 price tag. But after waiting an hour and a half for food we were ready to just eat and be on our way. My steak was nothing to write home about either. It was fine, but again very bland. Our server was very nice and they did give us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary which the chocolate moose cake was very good. I would have to say this place would not be on my list to return.
We arrived a bit early, but were seated at our reservation time. The service was timely, the server very congenial, and the view of the sunset outstanding. My wife and I had the Cowboy Steak for 2 (ribeye). Each of our portions was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The server had asked if it was a special occasion that had brought us there and we told him it was our 34th anniversary--the unsolicited chocolate mousse dessert that he served us was superb! It was an overall great dining experience!
Food was mediocre. The entrees ordered Agave salmon with Lobster Tail: Fillet was very low quality fishy) lobster tail also store bought from sprouts probably! Lobster was very tough and chewy. Seared Duck: Ordered medium well had a pork like taste and texture extremely hard to chew and swallow) lack of taste in both the duck meat and peppers included in the dish, not to mention the very small portion size of this dish. Also ordered appetizers and dessert that weren't all too bad. Was seated outside and our view was very pleasing. I would recommend if you go for the experience, stick to drinks and dessert.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. I had the Thai Red Snapper and my wife had the Orange Duck. Both were excellent as was the crab cakes we had for appetizers. Great staff and beautiful surroundings made our dinner very enjoyable!
Top of the Rock might have the best view in the city, and the food was amazing. All the dishes were well thought out and brilliantly executed. Chef even managed our party's somewhat tricky dietary restrictions. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.
