Thirsty Lion Gastropub – Tempe, Az

That was our first time here. our server has an excellent work on our table and meet our needs. the food was good, the pommes were not very crispy, but that would be the only complaining about eating. the atmosphere was wonderful, although it can be seen as a bit loud for others.

Food was great and service even better. Nowadays when good service is hard to find, everyone here was great!

The hostess and the servers there clearly don’t like their jobs. Every interaction with the 4 different young ladies who interacted with us from entry to exit, seemed uninterested and miserable. Their non-verbal and verbal communication was quite saddening. Like, do they hate their boss, was someone mean to them, do they just dislike people? I’d say it was just an off day but it was all 4 of them. They acted like we were an inconvenience and there certainly wasn’t any “experience” we had while there. I will say, the young man who delivered our appetizer (clearly from the kitchen crew) was an absolute pleasure. So whatever is happening in the front office isn’t working well for the female staff that night.

We have selected the thirsty lion for its location on the route (for us to the airport. it has great eating, with beautiful salads and superior fishing and chips (after my man. but I just wish there was a part of the restaurant where you could concentrate more on eating and less on the bar atmosphere. but I expect a return.
