Babbo Italian Eatery - Tempe

The highlight of my visit was definitely the bus girl—she was incredibly sweet and friendly! The meatballs remain as delicious as ever. However, the chalkboard special, which featured mushrooms, walnuts, and roasted vegetables, was excessively oily. The Mista Salad, unfortunately, didn't seem very fresh and had an off-putting, rusty quality. Despite these issues, I still have to give it five stars for the best meatballs in Arizona! **Original Overview:** The service is always excellent—fun and friendly. Their freshly made Sangria is fantastic. They have the best meatballs and gravity (I assume you meant gravy) in the city! I highly recommend the Mista Salad and the amazing chewy bread with olive oil and balsamic. So mouthwatering! There are many customizable flavor combinations with the Chalkboard Specials. The flat iron steak was crispy on the outside while cooked to a perfect medium rare on the inside. The mushroom gorgonzola veggie topping made it a delightfully low-carb option bursting with flavor. And I can't forget to mention the outstanding service! (As of the 11-7-19 update, the service at Ray Rural isn't quite as seamless as the Surprise location.)

I visited Babbo twice, and the spaghetti with meatballs was surprisingly delicious. It had a fresh taste, and on Mondays and Tuesdays, you can enjoy this dish for just $6.99. My favorite so far has been the three-cheese mac and cheese pasta – the combination of cheeses with bacon and sausage is absolutely delightful. I also noticed that while I was dining, out of the 50 customers who entered, 40 opted to place takeout orders. This restaurant is perfect for takeout, and I would likely recommend that as the service for dining in was lacking.

Our favorite villa go-to for Italian. Delicious bread. I like to replace her zoodles in every dish!

Spaghetti and meatballs were very good. Fried ravioli was ok, sauce was really spicy . Would not order ravioli again. Their fresh backed bread was excellent. Service was very good considering there only appeared to be the manager and one cook.
