I do a lot of wine paired dinners and went to several speakeasy private venues in Vegas. This one takes the cake for fun and privacy. Not to mention excellent food and wine pairing. First of all, you better know the password to get in the front door! We didn 't and almost got denied entry until my friend who booked it found it...geez. We were lead into a secret, private dining room for only 12 guests. You will sit with strangers but by the end of the night we all exchanged phone numbers to keep in touch. Only folks with WINE/FOOD/GLAMOUR taste would enjoy this! If Applebees is your type of experience forget it !
My family and I have been to the Tunnel multiple times, and it is amazing every time! The wine pairing is always perfect. I usually only like white, but I love the reds they choose. The ambience is so cool, and the staff is so accomodating and friendly. A meal here is our favorite treat when we are in Telluride!
First of all, know that this has a pre fixe menu, there are no options. But it is very well done, this is a great chef, creative and tasty food. Also you should know that the main room is a communal table; but it is possible to ask for private tables in the side room, or on the patio. Service between courses might be a tad slow. It's in a strange location, in an office building. Because of this, they decided to play up the prohibition speakeasy theme, with camaflaged doors, secret passwords, a peep door etc. Makes for good theater. The food was quite innovative, really enjoyed the meal.
It’s hard to write a review during COVID, as you’re not sure how it affects your overall experience at restaurants and hotels, which may have been affected by a number of factors. First of all, the chef obviously knows what he is doing as the food was very well prepared and presented in a 6 course meal of South American dishes including Peruvian ceviche and Argentinian style flank steak. My problem with The Tunnel was the wine pairing, which was strongly suggested at $50 pp. None of the wines offered were great and some not even very good. Tasted one which retails for $9, just expecting something a little better. Another less than great experience was the atmosphere and the dining room and waiting”room”. The waiting room was a non- descript hallway with offices where you stood outside without chairs and couldn’t see in. The dining area consisted of one curtained area inside and an outside deck with a few tables. Just kind of put together with the limited space available, not very 3 or 4 star at all. Pretty expensive for what you get and not a great value, especially with the wine pairing.
We decided to have our wedding rehearsal dinner here and very much glad that we did. The food and service was amazing and working with Mark on planning the event was extremely easy and went exactly how we planned it. Would definitely recommend eating here!
