While there might be only a vegan dessert on the menu, there were many vegan options. I was with a 5 colleague, so instead of the menu we have accepted to eat the vegan surprise of the chef thali evening. the first of the “Pani Puri” was a nice appetit and used to be an amuse-bouche with two bites. beautiful Indian street food set a berry for this stylish restaurant and modified for the vegan palate, it was made perfection. the Puri balls were light and not fat or oily, although they were deep fried. a basic of Mango-Chutney with a chana masala stuff with coriander, had a fresh one about that I had not expected. the chip decorated with an edible flower on the top was cool and complex, slightly salty with a citrus note, it had worn the bold aromen by ingwer and minze, the puri to an explosion of bite size. fortunately there were only two, otherwise I might not have stopped eating until too late! the “Pea Cakes” had a satisfying taste of cozy eating. a crispy outer with a thick, almost kartoffelge texture center they were more. bite, although the textured outer showed a complex but slightly defined mixture of kartoffel, cumin and ginger. I have a hauch of the coconut binding of the ingredients with a warming chili after the glow. in contrast to the pani puri, the chili heats of the heap cake really well paired with the ‘painful’ red wine, which gave me a pfeffering pingling tongue amazing. seconds The’ Masaman’ was a mix of cauliflower and tofu, drowned in the traditional rich masaman curry sauce with a scatter of cut red chilis and coriander. it had a deep taste that only comes from the cooking of the sauce for many hours. by allowing the heated tofu and the al dente cauliflower to barely be cooked, their aromes were not overwhelmed and could be experienced during enjoying the masamans. The “Tikka masala tufu Skewer” was nothing special. it was nice, but as expected. the “black forest” has thrown away all. light, complex with at least 6 different textures and aromas, it had something for everyone and never dessert, I had 4 mouthfuls, because I couldn't really scream my head around what my taste buds are screaming at me. try it.
Yeah, just a vegan dessert, but that was fantastic. we had a vegan surprise menu. the taste was delicious. a little more expensive but it was worth it. sometimes they have to treat themselves; friendly and helpful staff.
They have a selection of 6 vegan dresses on the menu. we had two of the appetizers, one head and one dessert. the appetizers (nems and the pot stikers) and dessert (Dark chocolate cannoli with cocoscream and mixed berries) were really good. but the main dish masaman was really bad. too heavy in cocose cream and a terrible aftertaste. I wouldn't take it for free. would have been the first thing we had ordered, we could not have ordered and never come back. also the waiters were very annoying, tried to push us to order all 6 dishes immediately. that would have been too much. Although the other dishes were nice, the main dish was so bad that it had a bad taste, so that both of us feel bad. we probably don't come back.
Every Sunday night this reverts from an Asian fusion restaurant to a pure Indian restaurant. Book in advance because this place books up early. While there may have been only one vegan dessert on the menu, it had had plenty of vegan options. I was with a 5 colleagues so rather than choose from the menu we accepted to take the chef’s vegan surprise Thali dinner. Firsts The ‘Pani Puri’ was a lovely appetiser and more akin to an amuse bouche with two bite sized puffed balls. Wonderful Indian street food turned up a notch for this classy restaurant and modified for the vegan palate, it was done to perfection. The puri balls were light and not at all greasy or oily despite being deep fried. A base of mango chutney with a chana masala stuffing topped with coriander, had a freshness about it I hadn’t anticipated. The pani decorated with an edible flower floating on top was cool and complex, slightly salty with a citrus note, it had carried the bold flavours of ginger and mint, enhancing the puri to give an explosion of bite sized flavour. Luckily there were only two otherwise I may not have stopped eating until too late! The ‘Pea Cakes’ had a satisfying comfy food taste about them. A crispy outer with a thick almost mashed potato textured centre they were moreish. Biting though the textured outer revealed a complex but easily defined mixture of potato, cumin and ginger. I got a hint of the coconut binding the ingredients with a warming chilli afterglow lingering. Unlike the pani puri, the chilli warmth of the pea cakes paired really well with the ‘Shoreish’ red wine giving me a peppery tingling tongue. Amazing. Seconds The’ Masaman’ was a blend of cauliflower and tofu, drenched in the a traditional rich masaman curry sauce with a scattering of sliced red chillis and coriander. It had a depth of flavour which only comes from cooking the sauce for many hours. By permitting the warmed tofu and al dente cauliflower, to be barely cooked their flavours were not overpowered and could be experienced while enjoying the masaman. Mains The ‘Tikka Masala Tufu Skewer’ wasn’t anything special really. It was lovely but as expected. Dessert The ‘Black Forest’ blew everyone away. Light, complex with at least 6 different textures and flavours, it had something for everyone and despite never taking a dessert, I had 4 mouthfuls because I couldn’t quite get my head around what my tastebuds were yelling at me. Try it …
Yes, only one vegan dessert but this was fantastic. We had a vegan surprise menu. The taste was delicious. a little more expensive but it was worth it. sometimes you have to treat yourself; friendly and helpful staff.
