Moessner Farm Cafe - Tehachapi

Moessner Farm is our go-to spot for lunch on the weekends. It feels like returning home for a comforting meal. The German specialties never disappoint, and the Californian pastrami is a personal favorite. I can't resist the grilled cheese and tomato soup when it's available. The jams they sell are fantastic for bringing home. The small team that runs the place is part of what keeps us coming back every weekend. It may be small and get busy, but it’s always worth the wait.

I had a fantastic lunch featuring the pig medallion special, and it was simply outstanding! The meat was so tender that I could cut it with a plastic knife. It was served in a mushroom sauce, accompanied by potatoes and boiled carrots on the side. I have to confess, I'm not a fan of cooked carrots, but I decided to give them a try... and they were surprisingly great! My taste buds are still reveling in the delight of this amazing meal!

I absolutely adore this little spot. It's one of the pioneers of the farm-to-table movement in the valley. Just a short drive down a bumpy road leads you to this charming restaurant. Inside, you'll find shelves stocked with canned goods and various treats, and the food is simply fantastic. I had a schnitzel sandwich along with Pennsylvania Dutch potato salad served warm, which took me straight back to my childhood in the East.

Fresh and delicate food with personal service. I had the pastrami sandwich that was lean and tasty. Just in the best way.
