Vinoteca - Tecate

Delicious fresh food, great service and beautiful patio. Would definitely go back on our way home.

Pretty place, great atmosphere, little hard to find parking. The food was ok, nothing spectacular, but we only had an entree and pastas, so we definitely need to come back and try something else. Tapas with tomato are a must, the bread is so good. Fettuccini with mushrooms had a lot of sauce and made it really liquid and hard to eat. Pesto pasta was ok, not a lot of flavor. Good wine selection but in the menu they had craft beers but most of them were not in stock. Lugar muy bonito, está agradable, difícil de encontrar estacionamiento, buen servicio. La comida está ok, las tapas con tomate fue lo que más me gustó, el pan está delicioso. El fettuccini con champiñones estaba muy líquido, tenía demasiada salsa difícil de comer. Buena selección de vinos pero no tenían suficientes cervezas artesanales (que estaban en el menú pero no físicamente).

A friend and I were 1 July 2017, and once more were not the least bit displeased. That evening coincided with the roll-out of their new menu and an introduction to Chef Carlos Gutierrez. We both enjoyed the chili pepper-seed encrusted tuna steaks, plated on a bed of reduced figs, with grape tomatoes, avocado, and sprouts. Roberto the restaurant manager assisted us with a proper selection of wine from the Valle de Guadalupe for our meals. After dinner, we had different desserts, my guest had the house made crepe with fresh local fruits, while I had the warm fresh fruit compote. Roberto then provided us with a private wine tasting and once again assisted us in choosing two bottles to take back to San Diego with us. He is extremely knowledgeable about wines and vineyards of the valley, and Vinoteca is completely supportive of these vineyards and their products. Vinoteca is a standout in the Tecate restaurant community, and another reason that I continue to return to Vinoteca and to Tecate!
