AYCES table was good and fresh on all reels. The appetizers were also very good. The rolls with fried shrimp were still warm, it made the roll taste sooo good. Our children liked the chicken wings and white rice. Overall a good experience.
Arrived at 1:30 am with my Hubby on the commemorative day and it was not packed. Everyone was socially distant, I thought it was sweet to put a parasol on the tables where people are not allowed to sit. We were at a cozy stand (although at times, too cozy because we had to make a few requests several times). There were no lunches this day, probably because it was a holiday, but we wanted sashimi anyway (which is usually not included in the lunch menus for AYCE) At the beginning we ordered a kani salad and a seaweed salad, which I would like to mix with each other. No complaints here. We usually do not order cooked food from these places, but decided to try the shrimps Tempoura and chicken wings. The shrimp tempura was not bad your typical costco freezer aisle shrimp empura. The chicken wings were dry, but at least they were crispy (my husband enjoyed them). We also had a false soup that was standard. Now on the main course. The Sashimi were basically regular pieces of Sashimi cut in half, but I wasn't mad at it. I liked the smaller pieces. You can also order more and more. The tuna was unsightly pink, but it tasted good, grateful. The salmon and the white fish were also good. They also have spicy salmon/tuna-sashimi, which I asked myself how they would do that. They just put some sharp fish on a cucumber disc that was very innovative. I really liked that because it allowed me to eat spicy fish without the extra carbs. For the roles, we went with the soft scarf crab Tempoura, New York Roll (Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail Jalapeno Tobiko, served with Wasabi Mayo sauce), and some others that I cannot really remember. To be honest, all the special roles at Fushi places taste the same. But I don't complain that I know what I get when I get to those places. To finish, I always order a soup before dessert to finish my meal (what can I say I am Asian). I ordered the tom yum and everyone should avoid that. It smells like feet. Hold on to the misery. They have fried oreo for dessert! I'm not a big fan, but it's nice that they have this on the menu because most places aren't. Ice selection are green tea, red bean, vanilla and chocolate. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and will definitely make a return visit. There are the small details they do to try to stand out what I appreciate.
Consistently great fresh sushi. We were never disappointed.
This is our neighborhood sushi restaurant. I can't tell you the difference new ownership has made. The sushi was mediocre in its previous iteration. Under new ownership, this restaurant has made slight decor updates, but significant food quality improvements. My daughter and I went a couple of months ago when they reopened. It was the first day, the service staff was mostly confused and short on many some items. Since then our family has eaten here 8 or 10 times. The sushi is of good quality, fish is fresh and the lunch buffet is a great bargain. We are grateful that we now have a fantastic eating option in walking distance of our home. As long as prices don't go up, I highly recommend sushi house.
