Topcats Fishing Resort

I did a 12 hour session today. Was greeted by Simon after having booked my day with Paul. Hope your finger is better soon! Had an amazing day with over 12 fish caught the biggest of which pushed 80 pounds (30kg . Lost a very big catfish…. My guide (Jute?? was brilliant throughout putting me on the fish most of the day. Would highly recommend. Cheap food and drinks. Very comfy swims with cushioned Salas. Be prepared to be beaten up by some big fish ;

Absolute gem of a fishing holiday and went beyond all expectations. Simon and Paul were exceptional hosts, and their staff could not do enough for you. The bungalow accommodation was on the button with full facilities, even the extra mile with complimentary drinks in the fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, full air con and large cooling fan. The fishing itself was beyond expectations. You still had to work for the fish, but the assistant guides were excellent and knowledgeable. I hit 109 fish in 7 days of fishing, including night time predator fishing. Got my PB of 70lb carp, 150 lb Arapaima, 120lb Mekong Catfish and a 90lb Red Tail Catfish. This place is awesome and will definitely return.

Me and 2 others visited Topcats Feb 24 and were blown away by the days fishing, 21 fish between 3 of us in 12 hours with the biggest being a 165lb arapaima! The day was that good that we booked in for a 2nd, and had we not of had to come home would've been back for more. Every swim has shade cover, fans, electricity and waitress service serving great food from Thailand and from home, ate here both days and all food did not last long! On top of all this, the management and fishing guides are what complete the setup here. Simon and Paul who welcomed us in were keen to make sure we had all we needed for a great days fishing. The guides could not of been more helpful, Ong and Doy were both unbelievable spending all day with us, explaining to us about the fish in the lake and how to catch them, and also spending time with a novice in the group and making sure he had the same experience we did. Without these guys we would not of caught the fish we did, hats off to them! I could not reccomend Topcats enough to any angler Beginner or Pro and will definitely be going back in the (hopefully) near future.

I was travelling Thailand with my partner, and as a keen fisherman I decided to book 2 days at Topcats. I wasn’t to sure what to expect, but I had the best 2 days fishing of my life. The fish are incredible and there are so many specifies to target. The guides are brilliant and really know the water, so if you listen to their advice you will catch. I caught 32 fish in 2 days with the biggest being 90lbs (Mekong catfish and Siamese carp). Simon and Paul (the owners) are great lad's and just love fishing. The staff are a credit to the venue and really help make the trip. The food and drink is spot on and you can have it at your swim. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Be prepared to be sore the next day as the fish really are monsters. I’m hoping to be back in the future

What a fantastic place ! Booked a 14 night stay in one of the en-suite bungalows inc 9 days fishing. Everything from the start was set up for the enjoyment of our holiday, free airport transfers, lovely clean accommodation and a warm welcome. We discussed with Simon what we would like to do on our days away from the lake and settled on the private longboat trip to pig island , a tour of the Koh Samui ending up at the old fisherman’s village and best of all a day at the ethical elephant sanctuary. The fishing was amazing and insane with 85 fish landed , 11 species, from a 220lb Aripiama to a 2oz tilapia, All the guides were top but special thanks to Ong Milo for their knowledge and friendship. Special mention to all the staff in the topcats kitchen, the food was amazing, especially the thai specialties, the quality was a good as any we had during our stay. Many thanks to Simon Paul.
