The food is good but not spectacular given the hefty prices. Service is basically just like an OJT trying to complete the number of hours. You will not get a smile. You will, at its best, get a stare. They're not as attentive. Such a waste of good uniform. Ambiance is great but is compromised by the service and taste of food.
[1] waiters are very very attentive [2] their events manager, Olga, makes sure that everything is doing good in and out of the kitchen; she is not a snob and bery very accomodating when we asked about handling a birthday and wedding parties [3] it gave us a different filipino cuisine experience [4] Cozy ambience
The place is located inside the First Pacific Leadership Academy. They serve great Filipino dishes! Their beef kare-kare, tinapa lumpia, sisig, tortang talong and boneless crispy pata are the top choices. The family will surely love to come back here.
Tipulo has an upscale feel to it. It has a vibe of a Tagaytay resto when you dine there. Since it is nestled inside the First Pacific Academy Center, you can have that sense of exclusivity... That's the charm of that place, no doubt. Food is alright. Nothing special. Straight up Filipino comfort food. No fusion, no alterations and traditional, I must say... and that's a good thing. For starters: You might want to try their Ensaladang Bagnet. You can't go wrong if it has Bagnet on it. The Tinapa Lumpia is a good appetizer too. For the soup: Go ahead and have that Sinigang. Pretty much bog standard but it'll definitely make you feel right at home. Again, no fancy ingredients or twists to spoil the dish. Entree: You got to have some seafood right? Their Crispy Hito with Green Mango Salad is a must have. Beef choices are all ok too. You can choose from Caldereta, Kare-Kare, Sizzling Bulalo and Callos, my favorite. If you want some pork, I highly recommend my favorite, Adobo sa Puti. The old-school true Adobo of us Pinoys. Cooked in vinegar instead of soy sauce and vinegar introduced by the Chinoys, way back when. Adobo sa Puti is a nice breather from your usual Adobo. You just gotta have it. If you fancy sandwiches, you can try the Tipulo Burger or Clubhouse Sandwich. Both are ok... ingredients and presentation are simple. Pretty straight forward. Desserts: My personal favorite is their Buco Panna Cotta. They have Cheesecakes and other cakes as well. The Fruit Platter is alright too if you wanna have fruits for dessert. Now... If you want to have breakfast they have Tocilog and Adobo Breakfast Meal. Those are ok too. Service: I would say, ok. Never had I experience any difficulty with their staff and servers. Tipulo is on my Top 5 among Antipolo Restaurants.
