It took us 20 minutes to get a drink and the draft beer was poor. We encountered several a**holes arguing with us about getting to the bar to order drinks. If I was 25 it maybe different but for a new 40 year old, it was pretty terrible. A couple of cool bands that I know play there, so I'll be back, but not willingly. Thanks
Dropped by because their website said that they had team trivia and that it started at 7:00, it did not. When we got there the Trivia host told us that management had changed the time to 8:00 without telling him so he had an extra hour to kill also. I have been here many times so I am used to this type of thing. They have a large bar with a nice assortment of draft beer, many local crafts and their prices are competitive. They even have a rotating beer of the month which is $3.00 for a 16oz pour. They have a nicely priced menu with a good selection ranging from bar pizza, burgers, sandwiches, full meals and daily specials. Unfortunately the preparation leads much to be desired. Often your selection is delicious but sometimes the same selection is terrible, dried out, overcooked or just poorly prepared. I think it just depends on who is working the kitchen, but they really need to get a handle on this. I have been coming here for at least 5 years and have tried most of their offerings and a lack of consistency is my only complaint with the food. I usually just get a cheese pizza when I come in nowadays and sometimes it is overcooked. They often have live music, both inside and on the patio. On occasion there is a cover charge. There is usually adequate parking and the place is family friendly, though sometimes very loud.
Horrified by the white trash (lack of) service, fresh from the freezer appetizers, and treatment of any patrons who are not regulars. It was obvious they are not looking for new business. Petit blonde bartender never made eye contact, her back up saved us from a complete fail. Witnessed another customer walk out after he left, the bartender actually said (to the doorman) well he never asked me for a drink, so I didn 't ask him , and just walked away. Apparently, they don 't train staff about customer service here. And it appeared as though they 've been given a directive to not make dark skinned people comfortable at all, even if polite and obviously not of the rougher ilk...sad, this day in age. Don 't go, there are so many better venues for great drinks, good eats, and good peeps.
I'm giving the place 3-stars because it's got a lot going for it, it's got a very large floor area for sit-down and events like bands, DJs, and that one trivia guy, has a huge bar area, great selection of beers compared to pretty much everywhere around it, and depending on who's on, excellent service in every sense of the word. It's also extremely affordable, no matter if you're going there to eat, to go drinking, or both. Unfortunately, the place falls down in two very important ways: 1 The service is not consistent. I've been going there off and on for a few years now, and sometimes, you get wonderful, whiz-bang service from one of their really good waitresses or bartenders, even when it's really busy. Other times, you could be sitting there for 20-30 minutes before you're asked if you'd like a refill with only two other tables in the joint. It's usually not *too* bad, but the fact that one place can have that wide a margin in service is not great. 2 The food. It's not that the food is *bad* per se, but it certainly isn't anything to write home about. You don't necessarily feel like you're about to get food poisoning for going there, but you certainly aren't going to be itching to go there again any time soon. The only thing that makes up for the lack of quality is its price, I go there when I want a cheap dinner, and, well, you get what you paid for. (As a side note, I went on a trivia night once and overheard not one, but two of the teams echoing this very sentiment, and they both came from fairly far away just to play, so I don't think it's just me who feels this way. The other aspect of the bar that's a little lacking is some of the crowd that goes there at times can be a bit dodgy, but it's a bar in Taunton, you really can't help who walks through your door. They're usually pretty good for making sure nothing's gonna happen to ya, but It's just something to keep in mind when going there. I've only been there twice in 3 years where I felt really iffy about sticking around for longer than one or two beers, and it was when big sports events were going down but nothing else was really scheduled in the bar.
My boss found this place for us for lunch before the wedding we were attending. From the outside, Baha Brothers looked closed but after further inspection, they were open for lunch on the weekend (11am I think). It's always funny to see people starting their day right with a few drinks right at 11am. We were going in for lunch while 3-4 other patrons were already seated in the big bar area were already getting their beer on! The service was pretty good. There was only 1 gal (with all the tats) who was waiting on the tables and also the bar so it was a bit slow. She was really cool though (all the Bostonians I met were nice). The food was also a bit slow but then again it was still kind of early. My boss' club sandwich was stacked and looked really good, I tried her fries which were yummy. If I remember, I had their Baha burger with cheese and also pineapple. It was good too, juicy and delish. The clam chowder was ok. It wasn't hot enough. I'm sure this place gets pretty rockin' on the weekends for dinner and drinks. It's big inside, looks like a big sports bar hidden in the back of the building off the main street. Very hard to find if you're not a local.
