Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service. Try satisfactorily and I enjoyed the communication. Our Doggy likes the place.
I've had a few excellent lunch specials and omelettes here, and love the atmosphere, but the pasta dishes have (surprisingly) tasted like supermarket tortellini. Also, the panini at €6.50 are overpriced a smallish ciabatta roll with a tiny bit of spicy sausage and cheese. It took 15 minutes to warm it up in the back (they were busy) and at that price and duration, I figured they were adding fresh tomato, salad, maybe even verdure alla griglia or something but no, just the panino cut in half and a few wilted arugula leaves as decoration. Very tough and dry, not a meal.
TL;DR: Waited on mediocre food for 40 minutes. 2 stars, because the iced coffee was great. We arrived a minute before 17.00, hoping to try a weekly special, which they had sadly ran out of it 's tuesday, but i 'm not mad about that . Never mind, we 'll get something off the menu, it 's been quite some time since we ate here. They had no tables when we got there, aside from one girl sipping on a cocktail or something along those lines. My smarter half got the pancakes, i opted for the roast veggies with cashew paste and spicy sweet potato ... balls . The roasted veggies were about what you would expect, cashew paste was basically cashews blended with tahini and the sweet potato mess really should have been breaded and fried, because what ended on the plate was a sad version of pan roasted sweet potato mash. Overall the flavor combination wasn 't even all that bad, but the presentation didn 't wow me, the whole experience was just plain disappointing after waiting for 40 minutes. The way you can fix this is, bread the sweet potato mash and deep fry it. It works wonders on the texture of the entire meal . If you don 't have the balls to make it spicy, serve it with optional spicy vegan mayo. If you come in here as a vegan, hoping for a hearty meal which is not unreasonable for 7 euros , this will disappoint you and leave you hungry. The added fats you gain from this might make this more filling. Roasted veggies could also benefit from the aforementioned mayo, since on their own, most veggies don 't taste of much and if your seasoning game isn 't on par and yours isn 't , it 's difficult to make it stand out and shine. The cashew paste and cashews are used to make vegan food creamy, not necessarily tasty is either a hit or miss, because not everyone enjoys the sesame seed flavor. I don 't know how to fix this particular part of the dish per say, but it feels kind of half-arsed and slightly out of place. The pancakes came with hard boiled quail eggs, which you REALLY should soft boil, if you serve them whole like on salads. Seasoning them with even the basics of just salt and pepper would also make them worlds better. The vinegar marinated salad would make sense if it was on top of something hearty like steak , but it doesn 't make much sense here. The pancakes tasted of just the oil they were fried in. The best part of this dish was the cottage cheese, which tasted a lot like the store bought stuff, the one that 's pre-mixed with salt and dill. The service was alright, but you ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS have to tell your customer when your wait time is longer than 20 minutes. Seriously. Also, the meals are small and we are not big eaters, we generally have to share a meal when we eat out, because it 's just too much for one.
Very nice and cozy place in a beautiful and rustic area of Karlova. Feels like visiting a good friend of yours and the service is just as friendly. Food is very well prepared and well served. Taste and quality is excellent! You also have vegan options that do not disappoint you.
