La Bottega Del Formaggio - TAORMINA

The small interior garden of the room is really very nice and reserved, you can not see from the outside, we did not expect such a beautiful place. once you have the waiter, very kind, explained the various friezes and we took the most complete: the rosary size. we were brought before the really good bread and a small welcome with mushrooms and olives under oil, then the cutter. it didn't look very big, but it's really challenging to consume in two. the part of the “gastronomia” (frittata, involtino and caponata) is not much and you eat quickly, it is discreetly good, but the part of the meat fills a lot. there have been four different types of meat (Ham, mortadella, ham and salami), but the quantity is really plentiful and the quality is not exceptional, it is not typical Sicilian salami that would like to eat to those who visit taormina. the part of the cheeses is more typical, but the fig jam is very liquid. the mozzarella of fiordilatte and ricotta with honey are good is to lighten everything. if you are in three the cutting board for two is more than enough. the staff is very kind and kind, patiently explained all the various alternatives, brought us other bread and offered us a limoncello at the end. if the evaluation of the review should depend on the location and availability of the staff I would give 5, but the quality of the meat did not like much. if they improve the cutting board by balancing the quantities (less meat of the same type and more cheeses) and using only local products, the local would be the best of taormina!

This is actually a delicatessen with a large selection of cheese and local meat. here is the load of the locals. around the back is an it area and at the top a terrace. the terrace is pleasant, although without view. the menu is limited and contains platings of mixed cheeses and cured meat. we chose one at €18 and it was too much for 2 of us! we had to ask for a doggy bag. at least the food was of high quality and unique. we had glasses of local wine and could taste before ordering. the waiter told us to eat everything and we were even given a limoncello at the end. overall a great place, although difficult to find down alleys from the main shopping street.
