Great little café on the main street. A fine selection of food available to order for dine in or take away. Service was very friendly. Warmly welcomed on arrival and departure. Great coffee as well.
It's been 5 years since I've taken people for a tour through the Barossa and I was very happy to find that this eatery is still thriving. You may find $10 a lot to pay for a bratwurst roll with sauerkraut, but it is a large roll and it is filling.
We didn't stay long, just stopped in for a quick drink.
This was one of my favourite places when I lived in Australia 8 years ago. The meat and cheese platter was something to always look forward to so I was excited to return and visit again with my daughter and her two kids. The cafe is very small and has tables crammed in so much that you have to squeeze passed other customers to sit down. Young staff seem indifferent to customers and hardly surprising considering the way they are spoken to by the owner/manager.Anyway, the platter was a shadow of its former self. Much less meat than used to be the case. Beef was dry and tasted "old" as did the meatloaf. Mettwurst was much better. The crisp quartered pickled onions have been replaced by cheap Silverskins. Overall, somewhat disappointing. The place seems to have lost its way which is a shame. It used to be great. Plenty of competition in the main street who may offer a warmer welcome and value your custom. Sadly, probably my last visit.
