Shipley Bridge - Tandridge

We visited the restaurant for an evening meal when we had friends staying over the weekend. We booked online and drove to the restaurant as there is no obvious public transport available.The spacious car park was virtually empty when we arrived so parking was not an issue. Once inside we were warmly welcomed and shown through to a table at the front of the building. Tables were well spaced and the area was well lit, bright and cheerful. Despite the lack of cars outside the restaurant was reasonably busy and had a quiet buzz.Once seated menus were brought and a drinks order taken which was then served with minimum delay. There was a very good selection of beers and wines and when served all were at the right temperature. After allowing us a reasonable time to read through the menu our order was taken. We ordered a mix of individual favourites and a sharing board for starters and a range of choices for mains. Starters were served quickly and nicely presented. Mains followed after the starters were cleared. Portions were generous the fish portion of the fish and chips was large and well cooked with a crisp batter. The chips were slightly overdone and a little oily if I am being picky.Service was attentive without being obtrusive and staff ensured both that we were happy with our meal and offered drinks refills when appropriateWe all enjoyed our meal and would return again when we feel like posting the “kitchen closed” sign at home. Prices are very reasonable and you can enjoy a good meal that offers great value

A welcome invitation resulted in an excellent lunch at the Shipley Bridge. Most enjoyable and an early return planned. Judging by observations made at the table, it will be fish or seafood next time. I was disappointed however that of my favourite real ales were not available at the time.

We came for dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday on Tuesday, 3rd Oct. We were served by Lily and another lovely young lady but were very taken with Lily's attention to detail and her bright, happy attitude. The food was amazing, really tasty, and cooked beautifully, so thanks to the chefs as well, lol. But Lily really made the evening special, and we just wanted to say thank you. My mum was telling her about the ginger cake I made for my dad, and she was very intrigued, so as a thank you, I wanted to bring her some. So there is some very gingery cake waiting for you which was handed to a lovely gent behind the bar. Thank you again Lily and Shipley Bridge for a fantastic evening!

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The staff was attentive, the food was delicious, and the prices were great. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

I was impressed by the cleanliness of this pub. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, welcoming us and showing us to our table. The food was outstanding, especially the smothered chicken dish which I highly recommend.
