The coffee house is lovely, but there are not many food choices for vegans. I opted for the jacket potato with vegan cheese and beans, which was delicious. The only other vegan option available was a vegan sausage roll.
This charming little restaurant in Middleton Hall Courtyard is a gem, though it can feel a bit cramped when it's busy. The menu offers plenty of options, including a separate vegan menu with dishes like vegan breakfast (served until noon), sausage sandwiches, and soups. Vegan cheese is available for sandwiches, jacket potatoes, and cheesy chips. We tried the vegan cheese and caramelised onion toasties, which were delightful, and they even served vegan crisps on the side (I believe they were pistachio crisps!). The cheese melted well and had a great flavor. The menu also features several clearly labeled vegan cakes, such as chocolate cake, Viennese whirls, and flapjacks. The Viennese whirls were a stand-out, with a delightful buttery taste that you wouldn't guess was vegan. They also offer vegan afternoon tea upon request.
These vegan sausage rolls are probably the best I've ever had, and they are baked fresh daily. They offer a variety of other options as well.
Beautiful coffee house but very limited eating for vegans. I had jacket spud with w cheese bohnen, which was very tasty, only other option was wurstrolle.
