The Longwood - Tamworth

The menu is extensive, featuring several promotions like Curry Nights, Fajita Fridays, and Sunday Best. I was particularly drawn to the "Golden Greats" deal— a two-course meal for just £4.45, or three courses for only an extra pound (and an additional 50p for a tea or coffee). For starters, you can choose between breaded mushrooms or soup, and then select from several lighter main options. I opted for the mushrooms and the chili con carne, accompanied by garlic bread. Both dishes were delicious! The chili was perfectly sized for lunch; it truly was a lighter bite. The bartenders were very friendly and checked in on us several times. The quality of everything surpassed typical pub standards. They also have a great covered smoking area at the back, a TV for news or sports enthusiasts, and a spacious parking lot that makes it easy to park. Plus, there's a quiz machine! Everything I could have wanted was there. I can't wait to go back!

I'm torn about this restaurant because I've experienced a range of issues on each visit. I've found chewing gum under the tables, dirty surfaces, and cold food. One time, the fish finger sandwich was absolutely terrible. On the bright side, the staff are friendly and attentive. It tends to get very crowded on weekends, filled with families and children. While it’s a spacious pub, it feels quite family-oriented during the day and early evenings, so a quiet drink isn't really an option.

This restaurant, once known for its great pub meals, has unfortunately been on a decline recently. It appears that there may have been a change in management. While the prices for food are still reasonable, the portion sizes seem to be shrinking more and more. One member of our group received a particularly small portion, and her potatoes were quite poor in quality; the staff seemed uninterested in addressing the issue. Additionally, the drinks, both soft and alcoholic, are quite pricey.
