Sky - Tampa

This is the place we seem to end up at the end of our adventures, when we really should be getting home but we're having so much fun we just don't want it to end. There's something magical about sitting at the bar watching the bartenders mix up super yummy artisan cocktails while I'm sipping my own, or a craft beer. The mixologists seem to take a lot of pride in the way they build the drinks. It makes me feel good about being there. My favorite cocktail at Fly Bar is the reverse Manhattan; I also love their sangria. Last time we were there we tried the empanadas. I recommend!

Solid but not amazing. My mom and I stopped here before the Lady Gaga concert for a bite and a couple of drinks. The ambience is nice and the area is cute. I was a little disappointed the rooftop wasn 't open yet (not until 9) but was quite pleased to hear they had happy hour until 7, even on a Friday. The happy hour deals included wells, draughts, and sangria. I opted for the sangria which was way too tart. My mom went old fashioned with a full-priced glass of wine. We ordered some frites, nachos, and sliders from our friendly waiter. The food was just ok. My mom and I both agreed the nacho chips tasted strange... almost like they squirted too much lime juice over the top. My bill for two drinks and three apps was $33 and I consider that a fair price for downtown at a hip place. I would go again for happy hour but cannot imagine paying full-price for what I received.

Fun atmosphere with creative cocktails and good eats. We enjoyed watching Football on the rooftop bar as projected on an adjacent building. We would go back for sure the next time we are in the area.

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant – the service, food, and craft cocktails were all outstanding. They also have a great selection of beers. My wine-snob coworker did poke a little fun at the wine list for lacking bold flavor options, but he was still able to find a wine he enjoyed. It definitely seems like a popular spot for dates, especially for people using apps like Match.com, Tinder, and Bumble. It's pretty clear why! (I have to admit, I don't really get dating apps; if you can't meet someone organically, I think it makes things complicated). But enough about that. In my visits here, I've tried the Fried Mozzarella, sliders, charred broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and salmon, and everything has been fantastic.

I ordered the mac and cheese, which came out a bit runny, but after giving it a stir, it turned out to be one of the best runny mac and cheeses I've ever had. I really didn't expect much, but it pleasantly surprised me. The steak and potatoes were decent, although I wasn't a fan of the tangy seasoning on the steak. That’s my only critique. The drinks were great, the service was remarkable, and the ambiance perfectly balances intimacy, casualness, and liveliness. I will definitely be returning again and again!
