I expected to receive a call to inform me, but no one from OpenTable reached out. It was quite embarrassing for my group to have to rush to find another place to eat without a reservation at 7 PM on a Saturday night. I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen again.
I've heard about this restaurant for years and it came highly recommended, so I finally decided to give it a try. The food was good, the service was attentive, and the decor was lovely. However, we were literally the only customers there on a Saturday night, which really killed the atmosphere. I'm not sure why it was so empty, but I hope the place can regain its charm (or perhaps improve its marketing). I would consider going back, but I don't enjoy being the only ones in a restaurant; it created a strange vibe.
The waiter prepared the drinks, but the martini had no alcohol in it. I don't usually sweat, but she was eating while serving. However, the bartender was excellent!
Food was good, hot, and priced reasonably. The restaurant could use a bit of general cleaning.
Pelagia Trattorio has been my #1 choice in Tampa for over a decade. Fabrezzio was the Executive chef brought in by Marriott to build the restaurant from scratch. He did a great job; he went on to other Hotel restaurants in other states. The mystery is why the place is not packed every night. Of course, if you want to eat where most people eat, go to McDonalds. it is one of the only restaurants where people can eat and hear each other talk. That is why I eat out; not to be seen. I never have had a bad entry. All of the servers are five star.
