Oystercatchers - Tampa

Oystercatchers is beautiful with many windows with great views. The staff is very accommodating and our server was great. They had a piano player in the past but no longer. The menu is limited and expensive. Bread was great. Wine pour was small. Husband had black grouper which was served with black risotto which we did not like. Very noisy. The diners seemed on the young side there were quite a few families with children. Dress was very casual some men had baseball hats some in shorts. Would describe as a chic restaurant but not a date night place.

We visited Oystercatchers twice previously. On those occasions, the food was better seasoned than on this visit.

It was our anniversary and we forgot to tell them on our reservation. We were seated juat across from the best table but we had a wonderful view and when dessert came it had happy anniversary chocolates. Our waiter which I have lost his name) was the most Impressive. He gave wonderful recommendations which were most appreciated. The food was wonderful in taste and lovely in presentation. We will return often as we live in the Tampa Bay Area. If you are staying at the Grand Hyatt this is a must .

We went to Oystercatcher’s to celebrate my wife’s birthday and had a great time. The food and view of the bay were amazing. Our server, Max, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the Oysters Rockefeller and Calamari for appetizers and they were terrific. For main courses, she had the scallops and I had a chef’s special with lobster tail, scallop and sea bass. Everything was cooked well and delicious. We will be going back.

The restaurant was empty due to a heavy thunderstorm in the area. We were seated right away. Our server Debby was friendly, informative and professional. The food was exceptional.
