Genx Tavern - Tampa

I finally had the chance to visit Gen X last night (September 1, 2023), and it definitely lived up to my expectations. The atmosphere was fantastic, the music was spot-on, and the food we ordered was delicious. I tried the "Pump Up the Jam" drink, and it was fantastic. I absolutely loved the decor! I can't wait to return!

This restaurant is a delightful spot to visit, evoking nostalgia from the 80s and 90s. They offer a few reasonably priced lunch specials, which is great. However, I would love to see some dishes that aren't so heavy on rich sauces and bacon. While they don't necessarily need to be health food, having some healthier options would be a fantastic addition. Even the chicken sandwiches seem a bit excessive in their preparation. On a positive note, the servers are wonderful, though the service can occasionally be slow. If you have the time to spare, it's definitely worth the wait.

The cocktails and atmosphere were fantastic. The jalapeño poppers were delicious. However, the service was a bit slow during our visit from around 1 PM to 2 PM.

Always stop in when in Tampa, great spot! Food is good, lots of cool themed drink selections, staff is friendly, service is quick. Love the decor and always notice something nostalgic and new!

Amazing 80-90’s atmosphere for hanging out, eating, drinking and just living it up! Jell-O shots, full bar and cool beer options!Simply a very cool spot! DJ with great music and mixes!
