Cafe Sanso is a simple, yet unassuming place, a little bit fancy, a little bit tasteful, where the Spanish food, (i.e. Paella & Callos), is quite adjusted to the Filipino palate. Being meticulous ourselves to details, this simple quiet place is conveniently clean from the Dining Area up to the Restroom. Their well-controlled jazzy piped-in music, an easy listening, has also set the perfect ambiance for the early night. Moreover, the Waiter who attended to us last September 16, Wednesday to celebrate my wife's simple Birthday Dinner is not only knowledgeable but also attentive, which made our celebration extra-memorable. Thus, Kudos to Cafe Sanso. Thanks! MV Lucas
The place is interestingly located beside the museum sharing its name. The museum first opened in December 2014. I 'm not sure though if the cafe opened simultaneously or later. The place is actually small, cozy and hardly noticeable to passersby unless intentionally visited. It 's even...more invisible when cars are parked in front of the cafe. These are all meaningless in comparison to the good food and lovely ambiance inside. the place has less than 10 tables but has so much good food to offer. The paintings on the wall offer a treat for the eyes as we wait for our food. On our first visit, we tried the roasted pumpkin cappuccino soup(we would have wanted it to be thicker but it was still delicious); melon and mango salad; pasta ala chitaraza and for dessert, we had this crunchy cubes with so soft filling. The caramel sauce garnish added to the flavor of this dessert. 'Twas unfortunate that I forgot the name of the dessert. One thing sure though : we 'll come back for more good food.
I had a merienda craving yesterday and specifically, churros. This place was just around my corner plus I had tried the churros couple of times before and liked it. I remember it being crunchy, but light and the chocolate dip just the right amount of sweet. Sadly, yesterday's batch was neither. It had a hard crunch and had too much of the sugary cinnamon. The chocolate sauce was nothing special as well.We ordered another dessert to make up for the sad churros, but that fried milk pudding dessert did not taste as interesting as it was described. The fried milk was cold and soggy. I found the combination just strange.
I initially ordered the beergarita and beef salpicao. But found out that their churros is a must-try. The reviews are correct! The churros are really a MUST-TRY! :)Neighborhood is quiet so if you go at night for drinks, it's nice to stay outdoors. :) Look around for interesting paintings too!
