L’escale - Taillebourg

A 1st time, aperitif at the water's edge, made us want to come back And the disappointment. Tiny oysters, which could have been specified when ordering, and then a plate consisting of a poor sausage cut in 2 with a potato, and the other plate with a slice of grilled ham, potato, salad leaf pickle 13€ the plate!!!!! We arrived to a pleasant welcome, A lovely spot with a bit of atmosphere. We negotiated a table in some shade with staff and sat at our table and waited our turn as there were several tables already filled when we arrived. We waited and waited, food and drinks were served to the tables around us. So we thought we must be next! But! then some new customers arrived they sat at a table and we’re served a few minutes later. We had not even been offered our drinks or a menu at that stage. We were very patient but after a further few minutes of being ignored despite having eye contact with the staff. So we left. I doubt the staff even noticed. Sadly we were completely ignored. The place with the best views I have possibly dined at. We arrived just at sunset and it was like a movie. We left satisfied with the food and the treatment, but it was the least of it: we were amazed by the landscape. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
