Patio At Sunnyside - Tahoe City

Ate at the restaurant but did not stay at the lodge. Burgers were fantastic! Other entrees were OK. The service was outstanding and you can’t beat the views! Service: 5 Location: 5

The food is great but the ambience inside and out makes for a great spot for lunch or dinner. Reservations recommended if you want to get seated on patio or dining room even just for 2. The service is very good. Happy Hour at the bar is very good as well and many locals show up for this!! There were 4 of us and we had reservations at 5:30 and arrived early so we headed to bar for one of the signature drinks and wine. We were having such a great time we stayed in the bar area overlooking the patio and lake. Not inexpensive but worth the trip.

As a long time Tahoe local, Sunnyside has always been endeared by myself and friends. Coming to get a Hula Pie for special occasions is such a treat! Unfortunately, time and time again I have seen multiple employees of the establishment posting videos of bears breaking into their outside bars, trashes, coolers, and more. This has been going on for years. As a local establishment it is absolutely the restaurant's responsibility to be bear aware and do everything in their power to keep our bears safe. Invest in bear boxes, take everything from the outside bar in everyday. Whatever it takes. You all are making hundreds of thousands of dollars off of tourists every year and can absolutely afford the equipment, training, and hourly wage for your employees to live by this standard in order to be a good neighbor to our bears. Most recently an employees video of bears digging around in open trash bins and coolers went viral on TikTok under your watch and could kill these bears. Please do better.
