But it's the crispy pork belly roll that's REALLY calling me back for another go. It's like dry less fatty lechon (I said less, not NOT fatty). Perfect with garlic rice and their stirfried vegetables. And kamias shake. Mmmmm. Uptown Parade is the new restaurant extension to the Uptown Mall and is accessible from the 2nd floor of the mall. But there's parking behind it too. Livestock is in the far end of the 2nd floor.
We all heard about this resto using a popsicle stick to cut their crispy pata, interesting. Well that part is true. But the part where it is considered the best crispy pata for me, well that is debatable. Barrio Fiesta's crispy pata still is number 1 for me. We also ordered the pork belly which is good but not as good as Tatang's lechon belly and the oyster rockefeller is okay (the oyster got lost in the cheese) but Via Mare's is still the best. The one that I truly enjoyed is the dalandan & kamias shake yummy!!! Well that's over and done with.
Was expecting to be wowed given the theme but sadly was not impressed. Meats were not seasoned well and lacked flavor. Will try to give it a chance and order their popular crispy pata.
Great crispy pata. It stayed crispy till the end of the meal. The seafood laksa soup was just a perfect combination of spicy and sour. A little disappointed with the mussels, a bit too salty. Would definitely go back but probably earlier in the evening because after a certain time they turned down the lights. Was looking for a dining experience and not bar.
We had a busy morning at work and needed a much needed break. A member of the team suggested Livestock at BGC since a couple of us haven't been there (including me as I've lived overseas for some 28 years now). I was told that Livestock's claim to fame is its Crispy Pata that can be cut with a popsicle stick. There were six of us, so we ordered two Crispy Patas immediately upon arrival. The Crispy Pata skin was, true enough, very crispy, not oily at all, had very little fat, and yet the meat was moist - highly recommended. We also had Salted Egg Prawns (almost every restaurant has their version of this dish these days so this was ok but not outstanding), Not-An-Ordinary Kare-Kare (the peanut-flavored gravy was light and could have been a lot thicker with a stronger peanut taste) and Broccoli Au Gratin (for our vegetarian colleague). Our vegetarian colleague also requested for a meatless sandwich (fresh greens between two slices of bread) and it took forever before it was served, ie, required three follow-up requests. Dessert was shared amongst the group: Honeyed Fresh Fruits and Salted Egg Cheesecake (we looked for the Salted Egg highlight but were left wanting - this dessert needs more work). Service was warm and friendly but once the place filled up with patrons, the wait staff was quickly overwhelmed.
