The cheese tastes artificial and the sour cream has the consistency of plain white paste. The taco meat served on their nachos has a flavor reminiscent of Bolognese sauce. The tacos, burritos, and other so-called Mexican dishes don't taste at all like what you would expect. So why am I giving it four stars? The standout items here are not the Mexican dishes but rather the local offerings. The BBQ sticks, ribs, and crispy pata are all truly delicious. In particular, the BBQ sticks are a highlight—you get six sticks along with rice, which is a great deal. Don’t be tempted by the Mexican options; instead, focus on their Filipino dishes and rice meals. Occasionally, they do hit the mark with the music, and you might hear some Banda and Mariachi tunes.
Located on the ground floor of Lite Port Center, this restaurant offers a delightful dining experience. Food rating: 4/4, Service rating: 4/4. (Check the uploaded photos for the menu.) The food is absolutely delicious, especially the pizza. Expect a serving time of around 20-25 minutes. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Although it is primarily a Mexican restaurant, local dishes are also available. I highly recommend trying the back ribs, pizza, and the chicken fillet with cheese. The mango shake is quite tasty as well. They provide high chairs for kids, but please note that they only accept cash payments. There are around 15 tables, each accommodating up to four people. Portion sizes are generous, suitable for two to share, and you can enjoy unlimited plain rice, with an option to order garlic rice with your first serving.
This is one of the best restaurants I've ever tried for meat dishes, especially with their unlimited rice option. While it is a bit pricier than the other restaurants nearby, once you start eating, you’ll find it completely worth it.
This fantastic local restaurant is run by the same team behind the beloved Buzzz Cafe. If you're in the mood for Mexican cuisine, this is the spot to visit. The menu offers a range of dishes from tacos to burritos, delivering some of the most authentic Mexican flavors you can find in Bohol, Philippines. After a short closure due to COVID-19, Mooon Cafe has reopened! Conveniently situated in Tagbilaran's Lite Port Center, it’s a place you definitely shouldn't miss.
I might return to try some of their other dishes, but for now, I would recommend ordering a burrito only if you're not too hungry—or you could check out the other options on the menu. The staff appeared friendly, and the food was decent, making it a place worth visiting if you're in the mood for Mexican-inspired cuisine. I would give it a rating of 3 stars, particularly because a $2 meal in the Philippines usually leaves me feeling satisfied, while this nearly $4 meal still left me wanting more. In the end, I decided to rate it 4 stars because, even in a foreign country, I didn’t end up wasting half of my meal due to poor quality, which I’ve unfortunately experienced before.
