My favorite since finding them, however lately portions have become a sample of what they used to be. Multi piece chicken and joe's are tasty but very small pieces. A big eater, me, had to eat all 3 to be satisfied. Wifey orders gizzards and they have fallen to nearly half the portion of what they used to be. Size of gizzard is a morsel/pellet rather than nugget sized. Way too much salt. Food is tasty but no longer abundant. Customer service sucks but it's good conversation. I'll be looking for a new place for tasty, broasted chicken, bummer. Did someone say Ezell's spicy?
I go during lunch time. They have a golden tee golf game. Very old bar, friendly staff and i heard the food was good, didnt try it myself. Tight parking.
I was not welcome here. My first time visiting today and will definitely be my last. When I came in the bartender, older lady, asked for my Id. It wasn 't a nice way though. Of course every bar should ask for id. But maybe greet me then ask for my Id in a nice way. No big deal got a beer. She showed me no attention after. If I wanted something else I had to ask while she was passing by. She paid a lot of attention to people at the other end of the bar. There was only 4 people there at the time. When I told her thank you for the drink she was already on her way back to the other side, again not busy, she says yep while walking away. I definitely felt out of place and will not come back. I was a paying customer and got treated like a bum. Local bar only for sure. If they don 't know you then don 't bother, spend your money somewhere you will at least get a smile. I won 't spend any more money here
This is the 1st One Star review I 've ever given. Yep, They 're Chicken and Jo 's used to be the Best in Town but now They 're only fair. I grew up in Tacoma and lived in the South End but moved up to North End. We still went to the Mt. Tavern for years, because they were GREAT. Now, I live in Kent but have still gotten My Bride to Stop there more than once. I LOVE Chicken Gizzards( Jo 's) and the Mt. Tavern(Again) used to have the Best of the Best in Western Washington. The Last couple of times the Gizzards Jo 's and the Bride 's Chicken Jo 's were Over Cooked and had WAY too much SALT(even for Me)!!! We didn 't even eat ALL of either meal!
