El Cebillano - Tacna

While travelling I have usually taken an aleatory, hit and miss approach to finding restaurants (i.e. wandering around the city until I happen upon something that looks like it might be good). Having ended up in an unsatisfying restaurant yesterday, I decided to consult Tripadvisor to check the top rated restaurants for the city I am in at the moment (Tacna), and came to El Cebillano today for lunch. What a good decision this was. At so many restaurants, one senses that the owners and staff are simply doing their daily work, with positive or less positive results, but without that extra something. At this restaurant it is clear that there is an aspiration to excellence, the people really care about what they are doing and are committed to doing it well. The food was truly outstanding it has been a while since I have really been filled with enthusiasm at the quality of what I have eaten, as I was here. Bravo to the chefs. The waiters also share this aspiration to excellence and were perfect models of quality in their profession. I asked my waiter (in Spanish) some very specific questions and for recommendations, and he gave me very specific and informed answers, and his manner was congenial, friendly, and courteous throughout (note that there are also English translations of the menu items). The only downsides were that I ceded to the easy temptation of eating too much, and the generic soulless modern pop music that is played in the background (as in most restaurants all over the world nowadays), the kind where they make the voices sound robotic. On my request, they courteously changed the music. Very highly recommended.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! It has amazing food, great Pisco sours or Chilcano´s and desserts!

Visite el cebillano junta a familiares por recomendación, la verdad es un buen local amplio, higienico y las preparaciones son elaboradas no al punto gourmet pero no estan mal los precios son algo elevados en comparacion a otros restaurante de igual calidad y como punto negativo la atencion ya que fue demasiado lento llegando a esperar casi 50 minutos por los platos ademas que cerraron el local cuando aun habia gente al interior teniendo que salir por una puerta trasera en definitiva no lo recomiendo.

La carta variada y con imágenes que ayudan a la decisión. Los platos sabrosos y la atención aunque no sobresale, cumple.Los detalles que finalmente no permite generar una muy buena calificación.Los platos llegan a destiempo unos con otros (20 minutos casi 30) y algunos fríos.Los baños faltaba aseo, situación que complica cuando viajas con familia.El restaurant está decorado en un ambiente rústico, se nota que se ha invertido, pero faltan detalles.

Todo muy bueno. Buena comida, buena atención y buen precio. Fuimos mas de una vez y siempre la atención fue de primera. Volvería.
