Boston Pizza - Taber

I recently visited Boston Pizza and have been meaning to write a review. We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess, and our waiter came over right away to take our drink orders. He took the time to explain the menu items and was very helpful in assisting us with our choices. He even helped the kids choose their meals, which was appreciated. The food came out quickly, and our waiter checked on us regularly despite being busy with other tables. The team there worked well together, as another server took notice of our need for a refill and promptly brought us more drinks. Overall, the food was delicious, our waiter was friendly, and the service was excellent. If you happen to have Shawn as your server, you're in for a good time as he is sure to make you laugh. When we visit our grandchildren and their parents in Taber, we eat regularly at the local BP. More often than not we are finding the quality of food and its preparation is going down. In our last visit my wife and I ordered the hamburger and fries. The fries were not hot, luke warm at best. The quantity of serving was very small. It was like we got the left overs of a batch. The burger tasted like a frozen and reheated type. The bun was not fresh. The kid ordered a BBQchicken pizza. There was so little BBQ taste, they asked for a side of BBQ sauce. The sever was friendly and the food arrived in a timely manner. We exp cited better and overall were disappointed in the experience.

Taber's restaurants are few and far between so this is the one to go to when one wants a decent meal.

This restaurant is nice and clean with good service, however, if the food does not meet BP standards, why bother stopping? While the service is good, it cannot make up for mediocre food. The 14.99 lasagna menu item was disappointing, resembling noodles with pasta sauce rather than authentic lasagna. Perhaps they could benefit from inviting chefs from BP in Lethbridge to demonstrate how to properly prepare the menu items.

We went for supper with some friends and the restaurant wasn't very busy. I don't know if our server was pre-occupied with other things or just didn't care about our service. She took our orders when we got there but then we didn't see her after she dropped off the food until we were done eating. She forgot our cutlery and we had to ask another server because we couldn't find ours. We got no drink refills, and she showed up to drop off the bills then vanished again, so we ended at the front counter to pay. The food was typical Boston pizza food. But I will never go back to the Taber location.
