Rachel's Cafe - Syosset

I'm a moderate return customer and always look at what the specials are, so I know if I've made some standard or if the cook did something special that my eye catches. I beat gold last night! I ordered the bread garlic soup and the Braised Boneless Short Ribs with mushrooms barley on a bed of pappardelle. I had never tried the soup before and it was not disappointed! The textures of bread and the generous pieces of garlic paired with the spicy sausage for a pleasant soup. It was, in a word, delicious! I followed that with the boneless short ribs. In the past, there were occasions where the short ribs were a little dry and/or on the limb side. Last night the ribs were perfected. They melted in my mouth, the sauce of mushrooms and barley was perfect and I could not have been happier. My wife had the lasagna she usually ordered. Yesterday evening, serving was not disappointed. She smiled with every mouthful and just over the lasagna. Kudos to Joseph Angela on a way home!
