Balsam Mountain Inn - Sylva

Very Nostalgic place. Enjoyed coffee and music on the porch.

I can't speak to the rooms or service, because i haven't stayed there. However, I have attended a couple of music performances there that were top notch! My only minor complaint is that the chairs are a bit uncomfortable to sit in for a long period of time. I know the owners are doing all they can to fix up the inn and I applaud them for that. So the seats are a minor concern.

I only gave 3 stars because they are closed for now. New owners renovating. We frequented years ago and loved the place. Did not stay there but went to the restaurant often and just visited for the beauty and peacefulness of the place. Sure hope the new owners breathe life into it again.

We had a Thanksgiving weekend there with the family several years ago, 8 of us. Outstanding Thanksgiving dinner, the service was the same. Our room was quaint and reminiscent of the early 1900's as the entire Inn is, and yes haunted comes to mind. I recommend a weekend getaway just for the mountian scenery and solitude.

New management is amazing. So glad to see the former glory being restored after the last owner destroyed the customer base, name, and history.
