Young Alfred - Sydney

Located in the old Customs House opposite Circular Quay. Best food at a reasonable price in this area. That is, much better food than the Circular Quay eateries but much better prices than the Opera House area. We ate inside as it was a wet...and windy day. We had veal, ocean trout, pasta, pizza and vegetarian. All of the dishes were tasty, a decent size and served promptly. The food was excellent and we added an extra dish for our youngest member when he stated it was the best pasta he had eaten! The wine list is good but pricier than we are used to (not living in Sydney). An excellent Margaret River Cab-Sav was AUD $63. Now on our 'Recommend ' List.

We chose to have lunch here on a recent visit to Sydney because it was in close proximity to our Hotel where we were staying and it was situated in a quiet area away from the maddening crowds of Circular Quay. It is a far...better choice if you are looking for a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. It is located in the Customs House building and has indoor and outdoor seating areas available. We chose to sit indoors as it was nice and peaceful. The meals we chose for lunch and coffee we were very pleased with, along with the service by the courteous staff. We would certainly revisit.

It was a while since I came here for a meal, but I can't remember having had wonderful, tasty pizzas like this for ages. The wine list is excellent as well and the service and location perfect. I think any bad write up is unfortunate....Give it a try. The tables outside must be lovely in warmer weather too

Right on Circular Quay, especially good if you're looking for something a tad more upscale than the outdoor eateries at the Opera House but you don't want to blow your vacation budget.

Stopped in there for a quick bite. The service was pleasant and the food arrived fast enough for me, granted I wasn’t in a hurry and was having a lazy stroll around Sydney. We had the pumpkin/zucchini/feta fritters with some bruschetta and a glass of...wine. Nothing outstanding but tasty enough to keep the afternoon rolling along.
