Pepper Lunch - Sydney

If you're inexperienced with cooking meat like me don't worry, don't be put off by the fact that Pepper Lunch has diners cook the meat ourselves in the provided hot plates. The meat cooks really quick and there are instructions on every table! The beef pepper rice with curry is really good, heads up that it's more of a dry curry paste than a ... gravy???? if that makes sense. The addition of corn makes me feel a little healthier. The general environment is busy and can get crowded (it's right next to mappen and oiden), and I think it suits groups more than solo dining.

Great place to eat at that actually caters for people with dietary needs e.g. Vegans and vegetarians). I had the tofu classic hot plate meal with chips and a drink for $15.40 and it was delicious!

I've been going to Pepper Lunch for a couple of years now and I can say, the food is still up to my standards. If the large variety of dishes that are on offer doesn't tempt you, the sizzling sounds and mouth-watering aroma will. My favourite would be the kimchi chicken with cheese and every now and then, I would alternate it with the beef pepper. Always perfectly seasoned - I rarely have to use the sauces that are at the table. However, my sister ordered the pasta which she said was bland so I would recommend steering away from that. Service is quick and efficient so you're in and out of the store pretty fast - perfect if you're running errands or want a quick lunch! Highly recommend if you're in the city and are looking for a quick and easy bite!

Pepper lunch is very popular and casual. You get your money's worth because you receive a large portion for a small price and also the food tastes fantastic. The main component is rice. You decide what meat and toppings to add. It is served on a hot plate. The service is quite quick.

I had the beef and hamburg curry meal with sweet potatoes fries. The food came out reasonably fast, didn't have to wait long and the service was quite nice. The food was also really good, it was my first time eating Japanese curry and it was nice. Would like to try the steak next time though.
