Despite the distance from our home, the tasty and fresh flavors of the food made the journey worth it. Anais is a standout among Middle Eastern restaurants and I highly suggest giving it a try for an authentic taste of the region. If Anais is too far from you, consider visiting Franks in Fairfield for a similar experience. I will be reviewing another Middle Eastern restaurant soon, so stay tuned for more recommendations. The kebabs at Anais had a delightful smoky taste and the chicken Shish was tender and flavorful, giving us a taste of the Middle East.
The restaurant offers generous portions, particularly of delicious lamb and chicken skewers. The rice in the main dishes is a bit bland, but it is unclear if that is intentional or not. The wine and cocktail selection is simple. The plates are all various shades of white, which may not be to everyone's taste.
Anais Feast For Two. Yummy bbq skewers on a bed of saffron flavored rice with grilled pepper and shiraz salad is a must have :
First time dinner at this nice and friendly Persian restaurant. Great location by the lake, friendly service, delicious food. My family loved it and recommend to whoever like to taste Persian food.
I had a fabulous dining experience at Anais, trying Persian food for the first time. I started with the Tapas of Persia, which came with a variety of flavourful dips and pickled vegetables served with Lebanese bread. My favorite was the Igra, it was delicious! I then tried the feast of Anais for two, which was delicious and generously portioned with 4 large skewers of lamb chunks, beef chunks, lamb mince, and chicken breast served with aromatic basmati rice and Shirazi salad. All four skewers were amazing. For dessert, I was wowed by the homemade Persian ice cream, which had a distinct and delightful flavor of rose, saffron, and pistachios. The addition of baklava and Persian fairy floss on top took the dish to the next level.
