Przekaż informację zwrotnąI have been a supporter of this charming and friendly charity cafe since it opened around 2010. A friend and I visited yesterday for brunch on June 20th, 2023. We both ordered the ham, egg, and chips with a side of bread and butter, but were disappointed with the thin, wet, tasteless, and rubbery ham. However, the chips were delicious and the egg was small and hard-fried. The side salad looked wilted. Despite these issues, they are easily fixable. I recommend that they source their ham, bacon, and sausages from local butchers like Bryan Turner in Ferndale or Glyn Hunt Sons in Rodbourne Road for better quality. The hard egg can be cooked better, and the salad should be fresher. I will give it another try in six weeks and look forward to seeing improvements.
I have been to this cafe multiple times and the staff are always friendly and attentive. I usually try to make a reservation as it can get busy, but even when it's busy, the staff are still talkative and personable. I particularly enjoy when the lady with curly hair and beautiful necklaces is working because she is always pleasant to chat with while serving me and gives great recommendations. I would highly recommend the jacket potatoes and paninis for lunch, and the toffee cake for those with a sweet tooth! Can't wait for my next visit.
We waited to be seated and served, but the waitress took the order of the couple sitting across from us and ignored us. She then promptly took another couple's order and continued to ignore us. Eventually, she went to the kitchen to chat, and after waiting for twenty minutes, we decided to leave. Based on other reviews, it seems like this may be an issue with just one particular waitress.
Always good food and priced well. Don,t forget to book as lunchtime can be very busy. The morning are the best.
Came for a breakfast as a change and thought we’d try here. Fantastic food and variety with a great “build your own” breakfast. I’d definitely recommend giving this place a go.
