Hampton Inn Sweetwater, Tx

I recently stayed at the Hampton in Sweetwater, TX. All the staff I interacted with were delightful. However, the cleanliness of this hotel left a lot to be desired. For starters, the bed in my room had 2 dead bugs on it, a small moth and a spider. The office chair was broken and didn't roll or lift. The pool, OMG the pool was disgusting. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month. Dirt collected at the bottom, bugs floating on top. The hottub wasnt working and the water had a green tint with a stagnant smell to it. Goes without saying I did not partake in these amenities. This location is definitely one of the lower quality Hamptons I have stayed in and I stay in a lot.

The gentleman that helped us was friendly. The first room we were given, the door was open when we got to it. Long story short, it wouldn't shut due to the frame. You had to pull the door up and over to shut it. The second room, the bathroom door when shut, there was still a huge opening from the door to the frame. He said the hotel was about 14 years old. Other than that, the rooms were great!

This was an overnight stay driving through. The property is dated and maybe why they have very low rates. Bathrooms need a good scrub, it was late to try to get a different room, and hence we opted to skip showers. This would have been a 2 star review going up due to the low $99 rate, however, they claim we smoked in the room and have pictures for proof and promptly charged us $150. Nobody in our family smokes or vapes anything, nor has ever done it. Contacted management and they refuse to remove the charge. Filed a chargeback with my credit card company and will follow through with corporate. They shouldn 't carry a Hampton brand. Maybe it 's their way to get extra influx of cash? Wouldn 't it be better to increase the rates instead. What idiot would charge a room to a credit card on a non-smoking room and leave proof of smoking behind them? Unreal.

This was such a nice hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast. I don't know why it is so rated so low. It was perfect for our family of 3 with a little one in tow! Beautiful views too!Safety: I appreciated the double lock on the room, I hadn't seen that locking mechanism. It made us feel secure

Very clean rooms. Loved they offered fresh cool watermelon and grapes as well as lemonade in the afternoon. With the Texas heat, it is an oasis.
