Lou's Naturals - Swedesboro

Those who know me are aware of my deep appreciation for cured and aged foods, especially meats. Lou's features an impressive selection, including bacon, ham, sausage, deli meats, and salami, among others. I recently tried their turkey salami, which is made without nitrates or nitrites. It was quite lean and not overly spicy, yet still bursting with flavor. I definitely need to sample their Genoa and Soppressata next!

I purchased a package of fully cooked, gluten-free turkey Italian-style meatballs, and they were the worst I've ever tasted! They were way too salty, lacked an authentic Italian flavor (and being Italian, I should know!), and the meat had a stale texture when cooked. I've had my share of disappointing frozen meatballs before, so I suppose I’ll just have to make my own and freeze them instead. It's quite disheartening, especially at my age of 91, when I was hoping to save some time and effort.
