Swarthmore Food Co-op

This restaurant offers a comprehensive service for those seeking homemade food, featuring an impressive bulk section where you can bring your own containers—no packaging required! They have a selection of organic grains, nuts, seeds, seasoned granola, and even new options like olive oil and balsamic vinegar. There are also ready-made vegan sushi, sandwiches, and salads available. The space is lovely, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

This is a lovely local grocery store. While it has a nice selection, I typically prefer co-ops that prominently showcase local and unique products, and I didn't find as much of that here. Nevertheless, I would definitely return the next time I’m in the area, but I would adjust my expectations accordingly.

One of the standout advantages of this place is its location right across from the Aria Mediterranean restaurant, which doesn't serve alcohol. This makes it easy to stop by Coop and choose a nice bottle to complement your meal! I also appreciate their excellent selection of bulk foods. Unfortunately, since my time in Swarthmore is brief, it doesn’t justify the cost of participating in their membership program to enjoy the additional benefits. As a result, I only shop for groceries here occasionally. They have a decent variety of wines, but they are, understandably, priced a bit high.

We visit Swarthmore Co-Op from time to time and are always pleased with the very fresh produce. We leave completely satisfied.

One of my favorite places! They have the BEST deli and even better staff!
