Przekaż informację zwrotnąWE HAVE EATEN THE CARVERY ON SUNDAYS MANY TIMES, AND HAVE ENJOYED OUR MEAL VERY MUCH, GOOD AMBIENCE AND FAIRLY GOOD FOOD. A GOOD CHOICE OF STARTERS AND DESERTS. THIS WEEK WAS TRULY DREADFUL. POOR FOOD AND DREADFUL NOISE. WHO HAD THE IDEA OF SERVING ONLY IN THE PUB WITH ALL THE SCREENS AND NOISE? WE WILL NOT BE EATING THERE AGAIN, UNTIL YOU LET US KNOW THAT YOU HAVE RETUNED TO THE PREVIOUS VENUE. JOHN AND NORMA SIMMONDS
The food was decent, but the menu had limited options. The restaurant was noisy and had football on, which may not be enjoyable for everyone. Perhaps having a designated area for sports would be a better idea. The food was expensive for the quality. The service was average.
On Sunday evening, I visited the restaurant after booking a room at the hotel. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed and we were directed to the Grill instead. However, at 7.30 pm, there were three large screens showing football with loud music playing, making it difficult to have a quiet meal and converse with friends. Despite this, we bought drinks and spoke to the manager, who was accommodating and attentive. The bar staff seemed inexperienced with the till system, but the manager ultimately resolved the noise issue by setting up a table in the lobby area. When checking in at 4.30 pm, the noise from the TVs in the lobby was overwhelming, prompting me to consider leaving immediately. A staff member helped with check-in by shouting over the noise. I would suggest separating the noisy bar area from the lobby to avoid losing customers in the future. Overall, the service provided by the manager was satisfactory, despite the initial challenges.
Stayed on half board basis with friends. Breakfast was excellent with great service. Food was good quality served hot and plentiful. Evening menu was limited we tried all meals and would recommend you stick to this menu as the bar food we tried was disappointing, the curry had four small pieces of meat and was watery. The fish and chips was excellent and could not have been improved upon. The bar area is very busy with football on all 6 tvs the staff kindly offered to serve us in the reception area which was fine.
The appetizers were disappointing, with a small serving of soup in a mug that was only enough for one person. My elderly father, who is 84, would have liked a dish without bread rolls. We were told that the rolls would take 20 minutes. Although the dinner was enjoyable, going back for seconds was not allowed. The mashed potatoes and meat were not available, and the dessert was the worst I have had there. The custard was lumpy and the apple crumble was also not very good.
